Elana Harte: Music
Heart, Soul & Song
(Elana Harte)
I learned to play when I was young,
To play guitar
Started with a tennis racket and a dream to take it far, yeah
I bounced around my room
Played it hard and out of tune
But I played it well
I wrote my first song while I was talking on the phone
Think I was
Driven by the need to have a tune to call my own
Something special happened then
Some kind of magic in my pen
And I was gone
Got no house
Got no car
Got no GIC’s
Got no bonds
Got no RSP’s
What I got is what I take along
My heart, my soul and my song
I’ve played in bars
I’ve played in clubs
And played for free
I’ve met great folks that I’ve adopted as my family
It gets me every time
Keeps me square between the lines
Hallelujah
Now everybody sing it
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
